Services

The RDIC accommodates a wide range of objects including framed artwork, transparent items and bound volumes.  In addition to scanning, the RDIC performs many associated tasks including data entry, OCR, transcription, large format printing, website development, database design, and geo-referencing.

Philadelphia Contributionship Digital Archives

The RDIC scanned over 45,000 pages for the digital archive, developed the database, performed data entry, hosts the website, and handles reproduction requests.

New Jersey State Archives- Documentary Treasures

The RDIC scanned New Jersey's 1789 copy of the Bill of Rights and Ratification.  For more information about how the scanning took place see Digitizing the Charters.

Rosenbach Museum & Library- MO (Manuscripts Online)

RDIC staff developed this online database, and scanned the manuscripts presented on the site.

Free Library of Philadelphia Map Collection

The RDIC scanned over 4000 maps for the Free Library and created an access system for use within the library.  The library has also made these maps available to the Philadelphia GeoHistory Network, an online project overseen by the Philadelphia Area Consortium of Special Collections Libraries.  Some of the Athenaeum's own maps are also on the site.

Philadelphia Architects & Buildings Project

RDIC staff scanned over 100,000 images currently available on PAB.
